🌋🚨 USGS Yellowstone December Update: Caldera Uplift New Eruptions 🚨🌋 USGS has confirmed 2 to 3 cm of uplift along Yellowstone’s north caldera rim, centered just south of Norris Geyser Basin. The signal appears to have started in July and is now clearly separated from seasonal motion. December also brought at least three small eruptions at Black Diamond Pool in Biscuit Basin on Dec 8, 18, and 20, detected by cameras and infrasound. This is the same basin hit by the 2024 hydrothermal explosion

Drone footage captured an incredible view of lava flowing from a new fissure that has opened up on Mount Etna. Italian photographer Emilio Messina said the breathtaking video shows Valle del Bove, a “huge valley” on the volcano, on New Year’s Day.
