This month, our Untold Stories of Service segment honors the memory of Captain Charles Satterlee, who lost his life on September 26, 1918, when the Coast Guard Cutter USS Tampa was torpedoed by the Imperial German submarine SM UB-91. Captain Satterlee graduated from the School of Instruction of the Revenue Cutter Service, was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, and served with distinction.
