NASA is set to provide an update on its ambitious $20 billion moon base plans, a key part of the Artemis missions.

The first mission, Moon Base I, is supposed to launch no earlier than fall 2026, and will deliver payloads including a Lunar Plume-Surface Studies instrument and cameras using a Blue Origin Blue Moon Mark 1 Endurance lander.

Nasa says having a sustained human presence at the lunar south pole will help wider space exploration and the construction of the £20bn base will happen over the next seven years.
