Apple is doubling its Houston manufacturing footprint and preparing to launch a new training facility in an expansion that could create thousands of jobs.

The new manufacturing effort will begin later this year at a Foxconn facility in north Houston, Apple's chief operating officer Sabih Khan told WSJ.

The plan marks Apple's most recent U.S. investment, following its commitment announced last year to invest $600B in the U.S. over the next four years.
